Optopmap Screening Retinal Photography
In our continued efforts to bring the most advanced technology available to our patients, we are proud to announce the inclusion of the Optomap™ retinal exam as an integral part of your exam.
Your Doctor is concerned about retinal problems including macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes or detachments, and systemic diseases such as diabetes, stroke, and high blood pressure. These conditions can lead to serious health problems, including partial loss of vision or blindness, and often develop without warning and progress with no symptoms. Click here to see a video about the importance of an Optomap™ retinal exam.
An Optomap™ exam provides:
- An eye wellness scan
- An in depth view of the retinal layers (where disease can start)
- The ability for you to view your Optomap™ retinal image with your Doctor during your exam
- An annual, permanent record of your medical file, which gives your Doctor comparisons for tracking and diagnosing potential eye disease
The Optomap™ exam is fast, easy, and comfortable.
Why is an Optomap™ Retinal Examination such an important tool for your doctor? With the Optomap Retinal Examination the majority of the retina is visible in one single image. Conventional retinal imaging technology only captures a small area of the retina at one time. Images will be stored electronically Your Optomap™ Retinal Images will be stored electronically. This gives your Doctor a permanent record of the condition of your retina. This is very important in assisting your Doctor to detect and measure any changes to your retina next time your get your eyes examined. Your Doctor strongly recommends that you make the Optomap™ exam a part of your eye exam.

Humphrey FDT® Perimeter
This is the peripheral (side vision) detection machine. In just 35 seconds per eye, it will screen you for any major visual field loss. It can detect any disease process that is causing you to lose your vision.
All patients over 30 automatically have this test (screening) performed as part of a routine, comprehensive eye exam in our office for no additional charge. The Humphrey FDT Perimeter uses Frequency Doubling Technology to provide a clinically verified and fast means of detecting early visual field loss. Visual field testing is a basic element in the standard of care for glaucoma management.
Humphrey Visual Field
The Huimphrey Visual Field machine is the gold standard for testing the visual field.
It tests how 'much' you can see around you instead of how 'well' you can see.
We use it for testing glaucoma, retinal toxicity, DMV patients, stroke victims, and others.
Corneal Topography
You have probably seen a topographic map that shows elevation using lines - this is much the same. Many people have complex corneal shaping that cannot be seen without the topographer. These patients have unexplained blurry vision that glasses alone will not help. |
| We use this machine on all contact lens patients to track the corneal health via shape and curvature. |
Low Vision Testing
|
| We can help low vision patients with special devices that allow them to function once again. |
Who may need low vision testing? Patients with:

A corneal topographer is a machine that measures elevation and curvature of your cornea (the clear
outer part of your eye).
Low Vision testing is for those patients that do not see clearly even while wearing full correction. Many diseases can rob patients of some of their vision. We use low vision testing and devices to aid these patients.
